Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist: St. Louis, Missouri
My client is a leading science and technology company that offers a broad range of innovative products and services to biotech and pharmaceutical drug therapies businesses. They are looking for a Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist EHS. This person will manage multiple sites in the Saint Louis area.
The EHS department plays a key role in maintaining operations safe and compliant across our various clusters and provides a consistency and equalizing measure across our various sites in St. Louis.
Your Role: To provide Industrial Hygiene, Occupational, Safety & Environmental assistance to site management in the prevention of occupational injuries and illnesses, and to ensure compliance with environmental, occupational and safety regulatory requirements at a complex manufacturing site; Reducing risk by ensuring site personnel are competent in performing and completing Risk Assessments; Conducting safety inspections, training, emergency response; Participate in Process Safety Management and EHS Management System. QUALIFICATIONS
Who you are:
- BS (or equal) in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene or Environmental Engineering is preferred or BS in Chemistry or other science related degree which included chemistry along with additional technical training in many of the essential job function elements may be an acceptable alternative.
- 7+ years of EHS related experience in the chemical, specialty chemical and/or pharmaceutical industry.
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (American Board of Certified Industrial Hygienist), Certified Safety Professional (Board of Certified Safety Professionals), or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (Institute of Hazardous Materials Management). Comparable certifying organization within the hiring region/country would substitute for these requirements.
University - Bachelor`s Degree/3-4 Year Degree
