Reporting to the AVP, Group Planning Manager and with very close collaboration with the Group Planning Officer, the Client is seeking an FP&A Senior Associate. This is an exciting time to consider this client and this role. The client has made a number recent acquisitions, has added additional lines of business and is actively seeking expansion opportunities. This is all being driven by resources the Clients parent company is giving them. JOB DESCRIPTION
The purpose of the role is to help provide the executive team financial data in order for the Executive Team to make good business decisions especially at the Group level. In this role, youll be responsible for development of the Groups annual financial plan and quarterly forecasts as well as be involved in the rating agency capital models. You`ll also work on special projects related to M&A and due diligence. This is a highly visible role.
The Client is not a very big shop, but its growing. The client is doing close to $1.5 BB in terms of top line, is attracting some significant names from the insurance industry (especially recently) and is building out a number internal groups such as investments, reporting, FP&A, reinsurance and tax. All of this is being driven by growth.
In terms of its footprint, the Client is an international carrier with worldwide interests in insurance and reinsurance and locations/operations in Bermuda, New York, London and other locations overseas. Although this is an Planning and Analysis role, a public/private background and a CPA would be very helpful.
Compensation gravitating to the $125,000 - $130,000 range on the fixed with bonus on top of this. All in, the role is expected to be in the $145,000 - $150,000 range. Some highlights of the role:
Anticipated time to be split 75% Group and 25% America responsibilities. The position is primarily respons0ble for supporting the preparation of the client`s annual operating budget and multi-year financial plan including coordination with the Enterprise Risk Management team for regulatory filings. This role will coordinate and liaise with the Group reporting team to ensure accurate and timely plan deliverables as well as variance analysis. Rating agency preparation of materials is required. This individual will support the AVP of planning while also reporting directly to the Group Planning Officer on special projects including M&A and due diligence.
- Prepare and maintain Client`s annual plan and quarterly forecasts. Special attention is paid to underwriting returns, cash flows and capital management, as well as interest calculations, intercompany balance eliminations, and FIN 46 consolidations.
- Prepare and maintain internal view of rating agency models.
- Assist in preparation of materials for Annual Rating agency meetings.
- Assist in preparation of materials for client and other external meetings.
- Heavy special project work, including building models and project management for things such as new business opportunities, organic and acquisition based-growth, restructuring, financings, etc.
Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance. 5 years accounting/auditing/internal audit experience in the insurance industry or in a major CPA firm serving the P&C insurance or P&C reinsurance industry. Exemplary Excel skills. Solid understanding of accounting and business concepts and strong modeling skills. CPA a plus.
