Senior Human Resource Business Partner Norwalk, CT

Rapidly growing global leader is seeking an HR Business Partner to design a mentoring program, implement strategies related to capability assessment/improvement and identify/lead initiatives focused on performance management, fostering collaboration and innovation.

This is a new position to support a population of highly skilled engineers who are a mix of tenured experienced specialists combined with a growing population of recent university PhDs from top schools.

HR experience in a large matrixed organization, supporting technology or engineering client groups for a large organization is required.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Senior Human Resource Business Partner Norwalk, CT

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a strategic business consultant and partner to an elite engineering development team.
  • Successfully implement talent management initiatives to advance organizational performance
  • Serve as primary contact for core HR processes including employee relations, staffing, compensation, leadership development and succession planning.
  • Drive the development and execution of career, leadership and organizational development programs
  • Coach managers regarding effective performance management and talent improvement processes.
  • Drive HR strategies to ensure that individual and team performance is consistent with strategic goals, business initiatives, priorities and values.
  • Drive HR projects to successful completion within a timely manner.
  • Manage year-end performance review process and annual compensation planning

Advise and counsel managers and employees to achieve positive resolution of employee relations issues and support change initiatives.

  • Oversee and administer company policies/procedures to ensure the highest level of compliance with local, state, and national employment laws and practices.
QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors degree required

Minimum of five years HR experience, in a large, complex corporate setting. Prior experience supporting technology and/or engineering groups is required.

  • Must have a demonstrated track record of partnering with all levels of the organization and providing performance management/employee relations support
  • Ability to do needs assessment, partner with the L&D team, and facilitate training sessions.
  • Solid business acumen and team player
  • Must be flexible, adaptable, and willing to operate at a tactical level as well as in a strategic client relationship.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective on-going relationships through all levels of the organization including executives, business partners, line operations and peers.
  • Innovation in problem solving and opportunity development; willingness to get involved in all aspects of HR that can drive organizational change, talent development and bottom line growth
  • Ability to function well independently, demonstrate ownership and self-sufficiency for project management and the achievement of agreed upon results.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Insistence on process excellence in HR
