This is a newly created role within the existing Information Technology team which has been primarly comprised of Application Developers & Software Support Specialists. Current server environment is colocated but all systems administration is handled by our client`s internal team. Due to increased work load, they have created a role that will be responsible for anything server related in addition to priding user support for approx. 45 employees.
There are many changes that need to take place to optimize their current server environment and this role will play a big role in helping with strategy and planning as well as implementing new technologies.
Will manage and maintain MS Windows Server environment (2008 - 2016). Around 10 servers or less, mostly virtualized via Citrix XensServer (colocation model currently). Will evaluate options for migrating to VMWare.
Responsible for patches, upgrades, backups and ensuring optimal server performance
Responsible for MS Exchange Administration for approx 45 users.
Will review existing policies and tools around Ticketing System, Security, Back-up, Replication & Archiving, recommending any changes necessary to ensure they adhere to best practices.
Will support user desktop hardware and software
Support for SQL Server

About the Ideal Candidate:
5 years experience in Windows Server / Active Directory Administration
MS Exchange administration
Ideal candidate will have good background in SQL Server from an Administrative standpoint with the ability to run basic reports in SSRS or similar reporting tool.
Understanding of SAN technologies preferred
Experience supporting Security tools and security policy best practices.
Citrix and/or VMware virtualization experience
Good documentation experience and demonstrated ability to create and implement strategic plans related to Server and Network technology
Fantastic customer service skills
