This non-union plant has an excellent safety record, low employee turn-over, and a friendly and supportive atmosphere. Ideal for someone who enjoys outdoor activities in a rural settings yet with more cosmopolitan areas nearby. Very friendly plant.

The size of the plant and distribution center combined is approximately 140,000 sq. ft. There is room to grow ones skill-sets; no bureaucratic career pigeon-holing here! There are approximately 100-115 employees, approximately 6 exempt and the rest non-exempt. About 7 of these employees work in the efficient adjoining distribution center. The culture is committed to continuous improvement providing the best customer service and quality products on the market. This position is coming open due to an upcoming retirement, most likely in December. The present Plant Manager has been in the role for approximately 15 years. Client is relatively open on industry as long as it is manufacturing in a lean manufacturing setting and this person was a key contributor to documentable improved efficiencies and cost savings.


Title: Plant Manager

Reports To: General Manager

Reports: Production Manager, Distribution Center Manager, Special Projects Engineer, Purchasing Clerk and IT & IE Technicians

Basic Duties: Manages all functions, processes and operations of the manufacturing and distribution center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Directs and manages plant and very small distribution center operations for cost, quality and delivery performance.

Coordinates plant activities through planning with departmental managers to accomplish lean manufacturing and distribution objectives in a timely and cost effective manner.

Develops and implements capital plan to improve operational performance.

Develops and implements systems of control over capital, operating expenses, manpower, wages and salaries.

Establishes and monitors overall plant performance for production and quality standards.

Provides leadership to accomplish Company goals, objectives and cost savings.

Directs the maintenance of existing plant facilities and equipment.

Works with management staff to provide a safe and clean working environment.

Provides direction, development and leadership to subordinates.

Manages and improves raw material supply chain performance

Expands continuous improvement culture to meet annual costs savings objectives.

Conducts monthly staff meetings. Prepares and presents monthly updates for plant employee meetings.

Completes monthly facility performance report to VP Operations. Completes and analyzes weekly production and shipping reports.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises subordinate employees including Production Manager, DC Manager, Purchasing Clerk, Special Projects Engineer and IT/IE Technician. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization`s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education: Bachelors Degree in related field plus 5-7 years of plant engineering experience; ideally 7-11 years plant/general management experience in manufacturing and/or distribution environment.
