WHY IS THIS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY?

Leading multinational manufacturing corporation is seeking a Srenior Manager to join the Accounting Policy team to oversee and manage the team that performs accounting due diligence activities for all of the Company`s M&A transactions.

This is a highly visible position that involves partnering with the M&A group and others to provide accounting policy guidance, under GAAP, for a variety of significant and complex M&A transactions.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The primary responsibilities of the Senior Manager are:

Primary liaison between Accounting function and the M&A group, Business Unit Controllers, Tax, etc, internal & external auditors, and third party valuation experts;
Manage the accounting due diligence process and support integration for all M&A transactions;
Identify key accounting risks for M&A transactions and recommend mitigations;
Provide accounting policy guidance on such matters including consolidation, purchase price allocation, goodwill impairment testing, equity method accounting, revenue recognition, and inventory valuation;
Communicate accounting due diligence results and integration priorities to executive leadership;
Manage preparation of technical accounting whitepapers including performing research and coordinating with external auditors;
Manage relationship with third party valuation experts and preparation of the opening balance sheet for acquisitions;
Manage goodwill impairment testing process;
Monitor accounting standard setters and support implementation of new accounting pronouncements;
Training for Accounting function;
Develop specific knowledge and skills of the technical accounting team.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate should possess:

Basic Required Qualification:

  • Bachelor`s degree or higher
  • 10 or more years experience in Accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Experience in technical accounting and/or mergers and acquisitions activity through industry and/or public accounting

Education:
University - Bachelor`s Degree/3-4 Year Degree
