JOB DESCRIPTION

The successful Construction Cost Engineer/Estimator candidate(s) will be critical team members of our proven government/commercial cost estimating and project management teams. Interested candidates should have a thorough understanding of construction means and methods and should be able to successfully develop construction cost estimates for diverse locations and construction types. Duties include, but are not limited to, independent cost estimate preparation, cost estimate reviews/validations, value engineering cost support, facility programming cost support, cost analysis, economic analysis; life cycle costs and contingency/risk analysis. Direct experience in commercial and military construction with any or all areas of Department of Defense Military Construction and Civil Works and Department of Energy is desired. Cost Engineering certification and experience using MCACES (MII), PACES, Success, Primavera, Crystal Ball and other cost engineering applications are a plus.

Job Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship

Bachelor`s degree in Engineering, Construction, or a related field

Minimum five (5) years commercial/federal construction cost estimating experience

Must have clear and analytical approach to problem solving, and strong decision-making abilities

Must have excellent communication and presentation skills

Requires knowledge of local construction market in area of operation including pricing conventions and trends

Requires ability to prepare conceptual cost model estimates from limited information

Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and other design documents

Solid organization, planning, collaboration, and leadership skills

Effectively coordinate and work independently with the client and stakeholders to accurately identify and capture project requirements

Demonstrated proficiency with Internet and Microsoft Office Suite

CCP or CEP certification (or ability to achieve within six months)

A Plus:

Experience with USACE, AFCEE, NAVFAC or DOE construction programs

Professional Engineering Registration (or ability to achieve registration within one year)

Experience with MII, PACES, RSMeans

Project Lead and Multi-Discipline estimating experience

Project scheduling and risk analysis experience

QUALIFICATIONS
