Position will be responsible for maintenance based supervisory and organizational tasks and ensuring adequate support and direction is given to maintenance departments within the units. Position will provide additional planning support and field coordination during plant turnarounds and as needed, as well as supervising central shop for the site.

Maintenance Superintendent

Position will be responsible for maintenance based supervisory and organizational tasks and ensuring adequate support and direction is given to maintenance departments within the units. Position will provide additional planning support and field coordination during plant turnarounds and as needed, as well as supervising central shop for the site.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides guidance and support for hourly maintenance staff and communicates with Production group to prioritize significant maintenance activities
  • Manages Crane Crew, Machine Shop and PSV Work
  • Reviews and maintains the standard Maintenance Procedures
  • Works with Reliability Department to evaluate and ensure implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance program for plant equipment.
  • Provides technical support in addressing plant maintenance issues as needed including recommendations and. execution of approved modifications of equipment
  • Plans and supervises maintenance work during outages to keep downtime to a minimum
  • Reviews, as needed, purchase requisitions for spare parts, tools/materials for maintenance projects and services
  • Reviews quotations from vendors if requested by Operations Manager or Field Contract Administrator. Reviews and directs actions to improve efficiencies and reduce maintenance expense costs
  • Promotes and supports, by example, the maintenance portion of the SHE and Quality programs/systems
  • Proactively develops and reviews the maintenance organization and provides guidance on mechanic and IE technician rotations and coordinates T/A staffing for CCC employees
  • Contacts outside contractors/vendors seeking new materials, tools, equipment or techniques to improve the performance of area maintenance equipment
  • Manages special projects to ensure cost effective maintenance services

  • Strong computer skills and an in-depth knowledge of the CMMS.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 8 years of plant reliability experience, with extensive hands-on knowledge of reciprocating and rotating equipment
  • Minimum 3 years of planning experience, with prior experience with CMMS systems such as Maximo or SAP.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior supervisory experience

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum Required: High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred: Associates or bachelors level Degree

The Hiring Companys Fortier Facility is in Waggaman, just outside of New Orleans, Louisiana. It manufactures high quality Acrylonitrile Hydrogen Cyanide, Melamine, Oleum, Sulfuric Acid, Acrylamide, Methyl Methacrylate, Ammonia and Methacrylic Acid that are used in a variety of everyday applications. They are experts at converting energy into industrial chemicals on a large scale. The facility sits on 800 acres with approximately 460 employees with annual payroll of $ 44 million and annual spend of 350 Million or more making 2.5 billion pounds of annual production.
