Candidate for Executive Director of this Utah healthcare physician organization must have previous legislative and/or lobbying knowledge and experience. Utah`s Capital Hill preferred. Healthcare knowledge is preferred and helpful, but not required. Flexible schedule. Will serve as Chief Lobbyist for these Utah physicians at Utah Legislature. High visibility. Strong organizational skills, legislative, lobbyist and presentation experience, media presence, financial, healthcare and association knowledge. JOB DESCRIPTION
Executive Director of respected Utah association of healthcare providers and will represent this physician organization as Chief Lobbyist before the Utah State Legislature, all committees, and public activities. Will serve as Chief Administrative Officer responsible for overall planning and implementation of the mission, programs and activities. Will serve as administrative leadership face for its members, media, public, students and national association as well as representative before the Utah Governor, State Legislators, State offices, and other statewide interests and efforts. Reports to Board of Directors. Will coordinate all meetings, active committees, and events. Execute all decisions on behalf of the Board of Directors. Develop membership surveys. Oversee planning and coordination of: Board of Directors Retreat, annual meeting, election of officers and board members, research. Reviews membership data. Serve as primary advocacy director and governmental affairs manager; requires registration as lobbyist; serves as liaison to other statewide physician practice organizations. Responsible for overall financial management including annual budget, IRS required documents, audits. Maintain flexible office schedule and must attend required Utah state legislative committee meetings and hearings. Serve as public spokesperson and representative of this professional organization. Will supervise one Program Director. Local candidates only. QUALIFICATIONS
Required previous legislative knowledge and or experience on Utah`s capital hill (preferred) or other legislative bodies and therefore have understanding of legislative process. Healthcare knowledge and/or experience helpful, but not required. BS degree required; MBA a plus.
University - Bachelor`s Degree/3-4 Year Degree
