Summary of Benefits:

General Description of Position and Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The NWACC Adult Education instructor in Siloam Springs reports directly to the Dean of Adult Education. This instructor will work a forty hour schedule and be based in Siloam Springs with occasional meetings in Rogers and/or Bentonville.
Specific Duties Include:

1. Administer appropriate assessment and appraisal instruments. Be able to interpret assessment results and counsel/advise the student.
2. Develop an understanding of the assessment instruments used in the program, both in administration and in use for student instruction.
3. Develop an understanding and use of the rules and regulations in the Adult Education Policy Manual, the NRS Assessment Manual, and the Department of Career Educations Standards of a Quality Adult Education Program.
4. Develop an understanding and use of the state data system, AERIS.
5. Maintain an active presence in the Siloam Springs community and serve as the representative of the Adult Education Program.
6. Maintain an active/open communication with school districts, libraries, and community organizations in western Benton County.
7. Work with agencies and business/industry regarding referrals to the Adult Education program.
8. Instruct/assist students in preparation for the official GED Exam.
9. Develop curriculum needed to meet the needs of students at various functioning levels, and the needs of business/industry in the community.
10. Participate in professional development activities directly related to Adult Education and/or as directed by the program administrator.
11. Assist students with the transition to college credit programs, vocational programs, and/or the workforce.
12. Develop and use recruitment and retention strategies unique and most effective to the community.
13. Serve on committees as assigned.
14. Attend and assist with the programs graduation ceremony.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.

SALARY: Faculty scale. This is a full time postiion with benefits.
Position begins Januarty 6,2014.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors degree required. This instructor must possess an Arkansas teaching certificate and will need to earn the Adult Education endorsement within the first four years of employment.
