This position is governed by law enforcement standards, state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Protects students, faculty/staff and property. 2. Prevents crime on campus. 3. Enforces college rules and policies. 4. Provides building security, locks and unlocks doors as scheduled and provides building checks. 5. Reports and records crimes and violations. 6. Ensures traffic safety on campus. 7. Assists and directs students as needed. 8. Provides emergency services and stay abreast of inclement weather conditions. 9. Escorts faculty and students to as needed 10. Monitors building access. 11. Carries assigned duty weapon and police radio. 12. Participates in training to include PT and Firearms. 13. Performs any other related duties as required or assigned. SALARY $14.76/hour. Additional Posting Information: Required Qualifications: The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma. Must possess a valid state motor vehicle operators license. Must be certified by the Arkansas Law Enforcement Certification Training in accordance with ACA 12-9-106, or an approved law enforcement training academy. Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: Must be certified by the Arkansas Law Enforcement Certification Training in accordance with ACA 12-9-106, or an approved law enforcement training academy. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of traffic laws, rules and regulations, for security. Knowledge of general law enforcement methods and techniques. Ability to direct traffic and to maintain order. Ability to prepare reports of incidents and accidents. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Ability to operate motor vehicles used in patrol duties. Preferred Qualifications: Work Environment/Work Hours: Flexible schedule with availability to work all shifts.
