This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION The incumbent is responsible for maintaining college grounds and landscape and must be able to operate wide range of equipment, including tractors, mowers, edgers, trimmers etc. Additional duties will include assistance in moving furniture and equipment, event set-ups, trash & recyclables pick-up. Assist other maintenance personnel as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Operate mowers, brush hogs, tillers, line trimmers, tractors etc. as needed. 2. Application of chemicals which may include fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides etc. 3. Snow removal as needed which includes application of ice melt, shoveling, operation of snow plows. 4. Respond to emergency work as required, such as flooding, snow/ice removal etc. 5. Assist with repairs, maintenance and installation of irrigation systems. 6. Maintain, clean and repair equipment as needed. 7. Moving furniture and equipment as needed. 8. Assist with event setups as needed. 9. Pick up trash & recyclables as needed. 10. Perform all types of landscape work as needed, including mowing, tree removal/trimming, sodding, digging etc. 11. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned. Salary: $9.99/hour. This is a full-time position with benefits. Additional Posting Information: Required Qualifications: Completion of sufficient education or training to read and write; plus 2 years of experience/on-the-job training, performing grounds keeping and/or maintenance of lawncare equipment. Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of methods and practices in skilled and unskilled trades. Ability to operate and perform routine maintenance on various types of grounds keeping tools and equipment. Ability to receive, assign, and coordinate work activities.
