General Description of Position and Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific Duties:
Teach chemistry courses with the availability to teach mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and online. Science instructors teach and manage their own lab sections, keep office hours, serve on college committees, and perform related responsibilities as assigned by the Coordinator or Department Chair.
Preferred Knowledge or Experience:
Demonstrated teaching ability is the top priority. Ability to teach other physical science courses is highly desired. Instructional experience at a community college, on-line delivery methods, preferably Blackboard, use of technology for instruction, and experience or interest in project- based, service learning, or inquiry-based learning will be given special consideration. Knowledge of good laboratory procedures, governmental safety regulations regarding lab safety, or lab experience is also desirable.
Full-time (9 month)position beginning August 12, 2013.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience. This is a full time position with benefits.

Required Qualifications:
A Masters degree with at least 18 graduate hours related to chemistry is required. Experience in online course delivery and one year minimum of college teaching experience is expected.

Preferred Qualifications:
PhD or hours beyond Masters level are a plus.
Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted on approval of the screening committee.
Work Environment/Work Hours:
Hours may vary and may require evenings and weekends. Additional to teaching hours, full time faculty are required to maintain 10 office hours per week.
