HVAC / Refrigeration Mechanic II

Job Location: Stillwater, OK

Job Summary:
Analyze mechanical, electrical, piping, and thermodynamic problems in domestic, commercial, and research-type refrigeration systems. Make repairs or recommend solutions, if repairs are not feasible or not possible in-house. This equipment can range from window units, refrigerators, walk-in coolers and freezers, ultra low freezers and lab equipment.

Analyze mechanical, electrical, and gas problems in gas-fired furnaces, hot water boilers, steam boilers, and rooftop units. Make repair or recommend solutions.

Installation, operation, and maintenance of ventilating and air conditioning equipment from 1/8 horsepower vent units to 35-ton rooftop to 75-ton chiller units and refrigeration equipment. Read engineering blueprints and install equipment, start-up, debug, and make functional.

Troubleshoot problems dealing with complex controls on non-refrigeration systems such as vacuum systems, fluid pumping systems, air compressors, dryers, and humidifiers. Repair the faulty components and make systems functional.

Education and Experience
Required
Degree: Vocational/Technical

Experience: Five years experience in heating and air conditioning repairs, maintenance, and installation.

Certifications, Registrations, or Licenses: Certified EPA Refrigerant Usage Card after hire and a valid drivers license before hire.

Skills, Proficiencies and Knowledge: Electrical controls troubleshooting with or without blueprints and schematics.
Refrigeration troubleshooting on freezers and ultra cold systems to -115 degrees. Familiar with pneumatic, electrical, and electronic control system on a wide variety of refrigeration systems, heating equipment, and air systems. Blueprint reading. Controls and electrical schematic reading. Understanding details necessary to make cascade refrigeration systems workable. Ability to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
