Job Summary:
Upgrade and maintain departmental computer graphics and teaching laboratories. Perform systems analysis, planning, evaluation and design work on facility. Install, update and maintain the software, hardware, and license records of the laboratories to assure computer services are available at all times to students and faculty. Facilitate computer-assisted learning. Provide technical expertise to faculty developing distance learning projects; on-line, web-based information and interactive multimedia presentations to extend OSU's learning environment beyond the traditional classroom. Evolve and improve software development techniques and processes. Provide instruction and training to departmental faculty, staff and students on the use of network, OS and applications software and related computer hardware. Provide workstation support services and technical problem resolution to departmental users. Maintain network services to departmental users.
Education and Experience
Required
Field of Study: Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Degree: Bachelor's
Experience: 1-year experience with software analysis, design, computer programming, and technical writing. Experience can be substituted for certifications such as Microsoft, Cisco, etc.
Skills, Proficiencies and Knowledge: Demonstrated capability with Ethernet hardware, computer programming, MS Windows; multimedia authoring, web and CAD software. Written and oral communication skills, ability to work with people and fostering student learning are essential.
