Hiring Range:
$4,875 - $6,700 mo.
Some College activities take place after 5:00pm, such as A&S Student Council, and others occur on weekends, such as Convocation, graduation, and high school days
Job Summary:
The Director represents the Dean in day-to-day matters concerning undergraduate students. He or she administers the Office of Student Academic services and oversees office operations of 15 staff; provides academic advising for freshman, undeclared and pre-health professions students through a staff of professional counselors; coordinates the College's participation in University-wide recruiting events; provides for orientation of A&S freshman through development and adminstration of 1-hour course; supervises the graduation certification process; administers academic policies on behalf of the Dean, including requests for waivers and substitutions in individual students' degree plans, change of major, probation/suspension/reinstatement, instructor change of grade, and grade appeals; coordinates preparation of A&S sections of class schedules and University Catalog; plans graduation convocations and provides support services to departmental advisors.
The Director is also responsible for conducting research related to student characteristics and student retention and for analysis of enrollment data to project demand for various general education courses, etc.

Experience:
3 years of administrative, counseling/academic advising, and teaching, training, and staff development experience.
Skills, Proficiencies and Knowledge
This position involves significant responsibility for presenting the College to prospective students. Not only must this person be an excellent adviser and an effective public speaker, but he or she must also have organizational abilities and human relations skills to gain collaboration from a diverse faculty and from other offices on campus. In addition this person must administer Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education policies regarding admission and retention, quickly analyze individual situations in light of these and provide direct feedback and justification to other campus personnel and to students affected by these. Ability to deal with people under stress a necessity.
