$10.60 - $12.25 hr.
Job Summary:
Entry-level designer needed to design and create camera-ready art for printed publications such as brochures, booklets, newsletters, catalogs, posters, and fliers, for University departments, faculty and staff as assigned. Work also includes creating illustrations, visual graphics and display materials using conventional and digital (computer) media methods. Assists in converting publications and illustrations for digital uses. Meets with clients when appropriate. Assists in management of various work group inventories and archives.

Required
Field of Study:
Graphic Design or Commercial Art
Degree
High School/GED
Experience:
2 years experience and/or knowledge or printed commercial communications, ad agency, design studio or university publication unit procedures and methods. Experience or knowledge of the Macintosh and/or IBM compatible publishing environments. Basic knowledge of printing, graphic production, computer aided design, illustration and graphic communication, including page layout and illustration.
Skills, Proficiencies and Knowledge
Must have basic knowledge of computer design, illustration and Macintosh personal publishing systems. Adobe Pagemaker or Quark Express, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator.
