PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION:
Coordinates and performs reservoir engineering activities relative to hydrocarbon storage fields and gas supply acquisition.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conduct technical and engineering studies for hydrocarbon storage including but not limited to:
- Prepare well workover programs
- Prepare fall-off tests
- Coordinate annual gamma-ray logging program
- Evaluate state agency regulatory programs
- Research and/or evaluate information including but not limited to:
- Well plugging programs
- Geological reports
- Reserve estimates
- Equipment installation
- Governmental regulations/legal documents
- Gas acquisition analysis
- Shut-in tests of storage facilities
- Communicate with and/or provide information and assistance to management, contractors, governmental agencies, employees, and others on matters including but not limited to:
- Operations, problems, and resolutions
- Workover wells
- Work in progress
- Geological analysis and interpretations
- Prospect reviews and reserve evaluations
- Storage activities
- Governmental filings (permits, notices, and tests)
- Environmental, technical, and legislative issues
- Calculate, compile, and/or prepare information and reports including but not limited to:
- Engineering studies and recommendations
- Project status, activities, explanations, and proposals
- Reservoir, secondary recovery, and behind-pipe studies and reports
- Reservoir and geological field studies for gas supply
- Storage agreements
- Pressure reduction analysis
- Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
- Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering PLUS job-related knowledge or experience as follows:
- Experience with reservoir engineering functions including field operations, equipment installation, and project management.
- Demonstrated ability researching and analyzing information, identifying problems and recommendations on matters related to storage, workover, and completion of oil and gas wells; technical and engineering studies; and regulatory compliance.
- Application of math, advanced algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Experience in use and function of office equipment including calculators, microcomputers, and related hardware and software.
- Training related to:
- Geology
- Storage
- Equipment design and operation
- Interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability researching, analyzing, composing, and/or preparing engineering studies, geological statistics, reports, cost analyses, memorandums, policies and procedures, contracts, lease agreements, and governmental forms.
- Demonstrated ability reviewing and interpreting governmental regulations, technical reports, engineering studies, manuals, contracts, technical trade journals, publications, and correspondence.
- Demonstrated ability developing information, conducting meetings, and making presentations to groups and individuals.
- Experience negotiating, advising, and communicating effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSING:
Applicable driver's license.
Requires travel to other company offices and facilities and to job sites.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Mobility to travel in and around plant and office facilities and around job sites outdoors.
Able to operate office tools and equipment required.
COMMUNICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Communicate and/or exchange information; conduct oral presentations.
VISUAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sufficient to perform job duties.
