Detailed Description
ONEOK Opportunities for new college graduates:
Selection for direct hire into specific assignments within one of the segments of the company (Corporate staffs or ONEOK Distribution companies: Oklahoma Natural Gas, Texas Gas Services or Kansas Gas Services). Varying assignments will be available to help further develop the new college hire's skill set. Individual will assist in providing development, analysis and technical IT support to the various business and technical projects at ONEOK and its divisions: ONEOK Distribution Companies, ONEOK Energy Services Company, and ONEOK Partners, LP (Natural Gas Gathering & Processing, Natural Gas Pipelines, and Natural Gas Liquids).
- Systems Analyst, Programmer Analyst, Web Developer and other IT-support positions
Selection for the 2010 ONEOK Trainee Orientation class:
Join a group of 18-25 multi-discipline new college hires for an initial 3-4 month in-depth company orientation to all aspects of the ONEOK business model, then be assigned to a professional position related to your degree/discipline in one of the segments of the company: ONEOK corporate staffs or ONEOK Distribution companies: Oklahoma Natural Gas (ONG) Texas Gas Services (TGS), or Kansas Gas Services (KGS).
**We are anticipating 1-2 slots for new MIS/CS graduates as part of the 2010 orientation class
Program may include the following:
- Phase 1: 2-week overview of the industry and company plus team building and various opportunities to meet various levels of management
- Phase 2: smaller group rotations over 7-8 weeks through various segments of corporate staffs and ONEOK Partners ? includes trips to tour various plant and field sites as well as job shadowing, presentations, case studies, review of processes, economic analyses, reports, reading assignments, question and answer sessions, etc.
- Phase 3: smaller group rotations over 5-6 weeks through the ONEOK Distribution company (ONG, KGS or TGS): field tours, job shadowing, presentations, reports, etc. with the trainees based in OKC/Tulsa or Austin or Overland Park/Topeka.
- Other training/development opportunities and projects
Trainees are initially based in Tulsa and then assigned to various departments within ONEOK.
New college hires in IT-related degree fields are typically placed in Tulsa, OK but opportunities may arise for assignments in Oklahoma City, OK; Austin, TX; or Overland Park, KS.
Job Requirements
Qualifications for MIS/CS Trainee:
- Degree in MIS, Computer Science or other Information Technology-related major to be awarded December 2009 or spring 2010
- Prefer GPA of above 3.0
- Involvement in extracurricular, community support activities
- Demonstrated leadership
- Prior work experience (internships, summer or part-time work while attending school, etc.)
- Authorization to work in the U.S. on an extended basis (e.g. citizen or permanent resident)
