The Neutron Sciences Directorate (NScD) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) operates the High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR), the United States highest flux reactor based neutron source, and the Spallation Neutron Source (SNS), the worlds most intense pulsed accelerator based neutron source, for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Together, these facilities operate 30 instruments for neutron scattering research, each year carrying out more than 1400 experiments in the physical, chemical, materials, and biological sciences for more than 3000 visiting scientists. NScD manages two proposal calls annually where more than1500 general user proposals requesting beam time are received. We are seeking an innovative Group Leader to deliver a world-class integrated User and Outreach Program in support of HFIR and SNS. In this role you will manage and lead the User Office team and activities, including proposal management, user administration, analytics, review support, and outreach coordination.
