Significant experience with reconstruction using high-performance computing is required, with familiarity with the VMEC, SIESTA, IPS, OMFIT, EPED, and SOLPS codes desired. The candidate will be responsible for the development of new reconstruction workflows, validating complex multiphysics simulations against experimental data from multiple toroidal confinement devices, and supporting a growing user-base as the simulation tools find routine application. Collaboration with other physicists and computer scientists in the development of simulation capability will be a regular function of the position. The position also requires interacting with the experimental plasma physics team at ORNL to coordinate validation efforts. The candidate will be expected to fully document work in technical reports and publications, effectively interface with project management and sponsors, and participate in the identification and development of research proposals.
