Job Summary
Lead model and simulation support efforts for new vehicle, system and subsystem design projects involving broad design assignments of considerable scope and complexity.
Major Areas of Accountability
1. Ability to develop and manipulate various performance modeling and simulation software to include Matlab, Simulink, Adams and other MSC software suite offerings.
2. Utilization of these design tools will be for the development of new vehicle architectures such as advanced hybrid-electric systems, chassis designs, powertrain designs, drivetrain designs, electrical designs, and cooling and lubrication system designs, hydraulic designs, and pneumatic designs.
3. Lead efforts for conducting Design of Experiments (DOEs), sensitivity analysis, and robust design practices (6 sigma design) for assigned projects.
4. Supports proposal development with design report preparation on performance characteristics and expectations of new and existing system designs
5. Provide support and insight to design team based on data developed during modeling stages.
6. Utilize CATIA and PC based software in assigned projects as applicable.
7. Familiar with utilizing High Performance Computing (HPC) centers
Education & Experience
Basic Requirements:
· Master's Degree in Engineering
· 5 or more years experience with the model and simulation of automotive dynamic and hybrid systems
· Knowledge of ADAMS, Simulink and Matlab.
Preferred Requirements:
· Phd in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on modeling and simulation related to heavy duty truck dynamic and hybrid systems.
