Job Summary
Responsible for introducing and managing all PMO services and support for all Oshkosh Corporation IT groups to align with the overall Oshkosh Business and IT strategy.
Responsibilities
· Manages PMO operations and PMO staff performance.
· Assists in identifying and developing new and revised programs (e.g. Overdrive), and all program projects and components.
· Develops and deploys PMO communication plans, methods, and tools throughout the organization, including executive steering committees.
· Provides project portfolio / project rationalization guidance based on global resource constraints (e.g., financial, time, staff, and skills) and business goals and initiatives.
· Oversees implantation of processes and tools to increase project management effectiveness.
· Works with senior managers to provide strategic and tactical advice on program / project planning and execution.
· Facilitates approval for scope and objectives, schedule and resources, roles and responsibilities of all projects.
· Participates in identifying global staffing requirements to meet program and project objectives.
· Participates in the hiring process of project managers.
· Oversees development and deployment of project controls tools, methodologies, and systems.
· Coordinates recurrent program / project budgets and resource forecasts.
· Facilitates resource, budget timing and deliverables issues resolution for all projects and programs.
· Oversees coaching and mentoring of project team members in the use of project management tools and processes and develops training standards for project managers.
· Oversees project risk management processes and tools.
· Maintains a master list of projects and supplies “dashboard” reports and analysis to senior leadership.
· Oversees the development of effective PMO program / project tools to aid in process standardization (project reviews, reports, templates, knowledge management, etc.).
· Participates in business case and proposal development to insure integration between the project effort and other functional areas.
· Oversees the development of project / program plans, budgets, and resources requirements.
· Facilitates resolution of multi-project resources and integration conflicts.
· Accountable for the PMO budget.
Basis Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or other related field.
· Experience in developing or maintaining project methodologies and management tools.
· Thorough understanding of budgeting, project management and resource management.
· Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
· Proven ability and successful track record to work closely with key business executives.
· Experience in Microsoft PowerPoint, Project, Word and Excel.
· Fully understand large-scale project implementations.
· 3 or more years of management experience
Preferred Qualifications
· Strong negotiation, facilitation and influencing skills.
· Annual budgeting and strategic planning experience.
· Experience in managing within a matrix-based organization.
· Past experience with implementing ERP projects.
· Exposure to IT and business systems shared services is a plus.
· Experience managing IT activities at remote sites.
· 10 or more years of IT and business work experience including portfolio / project management and business analysis.
