SUMMARY
Lead the Human Resources talent and development initiatives for the Defense segment and collaboratively determine the implementation and strategic direction of training programs in support of business objectives. Manage the planning, development, and implementation of training programs and educational opportunities for Oshkosh Corporation employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop strong relationships with all business functions and determine training and development priorities consistent with business strategy. Develop appropriate strategic and tactical training plans and curriculum based on identified opportunities and needs.
- Plan, manage and execute the talent development functions for the defense segment while coordinating requirements and activities with the corporate talent development team. This includes, but is not limited to: developing and directing the administration of the employee performance management process; linking employee development plans with individualized and group training opportunities;initiating assessment tools to support leadership development.
- Integrate the training function into the operational activities of the business segment; anticipating requirements, mentoring, advising and assisting when necessary.
- Conduct research into training and development solutions and recommend appropriate implementation.
- Contract with outside vendors in the development and implementation of training programs.
- Manage the staff and functions of the Employee Development Center including budget planning, measuring, analyzing and evaluating program, curriculum, instructors and employee effectiveness.
- Conduct training as appropriate and needed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree Human Resources, Organizational Development or relevant field
3+ years experience leading an organizational development and/or training function within a LEAN focused organization
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact and influence all levels of the organization.
- Highly organized, business savvy individual.
- Previous experience designing, managing or leading a performance management program.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
- PHR / SPHR certification.
