" Supervise Logistic Department staff.
" Develop and organize traffic procedures
" Evaluate and select carriers & methods of transport based on cost and on-time goals.
" Manage all customer shipping issues, including claims for loss or damage.
" Negotiate freight rates with outside carrier base.
" Manage all customs documentation requirements.
" Become proficient at the ever changing import / export laws and regulations.
" Process customs duty drawback paperwork.
" Ensure compliance with current transportation & customs regulations.
" Daily processing of picking tickets, packing lists and invoices.
" Review UPS shipments from offshore locations.
" Shares responsibility for keeping inventory accurate through personal and staff participation in cycle. counting, transaction control, warehousing procedures, and problem solving. Participate in or direct physical inventory as needed.
" Assist in accomplishing the broad array of tasks needed to accomplish the daily materials management functions.
" Develop and document all department procedures and work instructions.
" Seek out and develop new, consistant and effective packaging processes using cost effective materials.
" Work hands-on when needed.
" Four year degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management desired. CLTD required within 3 years.
" Transportation/logisitics experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
" Experience with import/export procedures, international freight requirements.
" Understanding of international freight terminology.
" Team player with excellent communication and organizational skills.
" Ability to write in business language and analyze problem situations.
" Able to work independently in a fast paced office setting.
" Strong attention to detail.
" Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Internet, databases and ability to learn online systems. SAP software experience highly desirable.
" A good understanding of general business practices.
" Committed to resolving customer problems & answering customer questions in a positive manner.
" Demonstrates initiative and drive to begin & follow through on tasks in a timely manner.
" Works well under pressure and daily deadlines.
" Highly motivated & willing to work flexible hours to accommodate business needs.
" Excellent interpersonal skills.
" Ability to follow procedures and share knowledge with others.
" Can handle a minimum of 60#.
" Be able to become lift truck certified.
" Periodic domestic and international travel required.
