Logistics Planning Assistant Manager

Job Location: Sidney area, OH

Shift: Direct Hire Position

Job Description:
SUMMARY

Directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in Logistics Planning process of various shipments of automotive components and other activities related to support of Distribution / Production by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate staff members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements
Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, scheduling work assignments, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors and determining cost effectiveness.
Front person for customer contract negotiations
Act as a liaison between various customers and operations / production.
Monitors manpower conditions and operates within the established budgeted / contract manpower.
Develops the Logistics Planning operating budget and provides detailed analysis of expenses in support of the operations / production groups budget preparation.
Directs / develops pricing for various customers from CPU (cost per unit) to resource base
costing and prepares presentations to support our position.
Works closely with Quality, Production and Safety to ensure that equipment / process are engineered the most efficient and safe.
Develops / tracks safety countermeasures to reduce / eliminate OSHA recordables and work related injuries.
Develops / track cost down reductions.
Assist in the preparation of daily, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and annual operation reports in support of the business unit leaders.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training associates, planning, assigning and directing work assignments; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelors degree (B.A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
