Field Service Technician

Job Location: Dayton, OH

Shift: Contract to Direct

Job Description:
The selected candidate will provide customers with technical support in the following areas:
Installation and setup, preventive and corrective maintenance, application support, system modification and telephone support.
Perform emergency corrective maintenance in the field utilizing in-depth troubleshooting of a wide variety of robot models and peripheral equipment.
Provide in-depth troubleshooting via phone with customers in the field.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on customer product in-house.
Adhere to safety standards in the field and at customer locations.
Accurately and in a timely manner complete all paperwork associated with trips and in-house repairs.
Inform Regional Sales Managers of service related issues in their area and coordinate any sales leads with the appropriate Regional Sales Managers.
Provide technical support to other Field Service Technicians in the field.
Provide technical support to all distributors.
Assist customers via phone and in the field on application and process related issues.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
Provide support to Customer Service Department regarding identification of repair parts issues for customer spare parts orders.
Assist Customer Service with identification of warranty vs. non-warranty issues.
Perform in-house and on-site demos to customers.
Assist Training Department as necessary with in-house and on-site training for both standard and non-standard training courses.
Assist customers with modifications/retrofits of equipment to existing systems.

Will be in constant communication with Engineering, Field Service Staff, Customer Service Staff, and Customers.
Must have the ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical/electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic drawings, schematics and diagrams.
Apply technical skills in an effective manner.
Demonstrate interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Will be under the general supervisor of Service Manager.

Qualifications:
Must have experience with operating computer, robots and welding equipment.

Travel 25 to 75 of the time.

Must have a valid drivers license.

Compensation:
Based on experience
