SUMMARY OF JOB: The Final Inspector is responsible for testing and inspecting per specification requirements which could include, online, receiving, and final inspection.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other Duties may be assigned.

• Interprets work order engineering drawings, sketches, procedures and work instructions. Confers with management or engineering staff to ensure that product meets customer requirements.
• Selects finished customer parts for tests. Inspects products for a variety of requirements such as: Thickness, adhesion, visual, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.
• Facilitates outsourced quality testing process as required.
• Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures as directed.
• Recommends modifications of existing quality standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
• Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to ensure specification compliance.
• Maintains gauges, measuring devices, and testing equipment. Performs calibrations as required to support calibrated testing equipment, ensuring the calibration records are documented correctly.
• When required, perform periodic tests to verify production processes.
• Enters data into graphs, spreadsheets, or charts for analysis.
• Ensure communication between shifts is documented and maintained.
• Understanding and executing written specification instructions.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent; 1-2 years quality inspection experience with measuring instruments a plus. Must be detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task. Must have good eye vision and be able to distinguish contrasting colors (not color blind).
