TITLE: Charge Nurse RN(Registered Nurse) OB
LOCATION: Chattanooga area, Tennessee

Provides direct and indirect patient care. Appropriately communicates changes in patient`s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Additionally, is able to perform general duties in all departments with supervision.
1.Childbirth Center RNs demonstrate responsibility for maintaining skills and knowledge in the areas of Labor and Delivery, Post-Partum, Nursery, and OB operating room.
2.Childbirth Center RNs provide patient care during the pre-surgical, operative, and recovery periods for both cesarean and postpartum tubal patients.
3.Childbirth Center RNs preform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety for both mother and infant that will reduce the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors.

-Minimum Associates Degree in Nursing and able to obtain a current RN license in the state of Tennessee.
-Needs to have experience in OB. Might consider someone that was an LPN in OB prior to becoming and RN.
-Must be able to work nursery, post partum, c-section, labor and delivery.
-Current licensure by the State of Tennessee or a compact agreement state as a Registered Nurse.
-ACLS and NRP within 6 months of hire.
-AWHONN Intermediate Monitoring and STABLE within one year of hire.

Additional Info:
The facility is a progressive 130 bed acute care facility with 30 bed skilled/nursing home beds.
The OB Dept has 4 LDRs, 2 Triage rooms, 8 PP rooms, one OB/OR suite, and a Level II nursery (10 bed license).
They deliver 35+ week and is equipped to deliver and stabilize any gestational age infant.
There is 3 OB/GYNs and 1 FP/OB that do deliveries. There is 3 pediatricians, one of which is a pediatric cardiologist.
All are crossed trained to all depts: L&D, Nsy, PP, and OR (scrub, assist, and circulate).
Department currently has 16 at this time and looking to add due to retirements, transferring, and FMLA.
All positions are 7PM -7AM shifts, 3-shift per week, 36 hours. Additional shifts are usually available if the candidate likes to earn OT after 40 hours.

Compensation is based on experience and the range is $21 to $33/hour plus shift differentials. The facility offers full benefits and a relocation/sign-on package as well as student loan repayment.
