Qualifications & Technical Skill Requirement:
Quality Engineering/Auditing experience required.
Aerospace industry knowledge required.
ASQ and/or ASNT certifications preferred.
Experience in the development and registration of an AS 9100 quality system a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Internal Auditing Activities:
1. Perform and or assists with internal audits.
a. Develop and implement quantifiable internal audit check sheets.
i. Identify questions and evidence required to validate processes.
b. Develop, schedule, conduct and evaluate Internal and Supplier System, Process and Product Audits, then issue a report on the results.
c. Provide escort or technical resources as required or requested for customer quality audits, visits and certifications.
d. Analyze audit findings and propose corrective actions when necessary.
i. Respond directly or provide assistance to plant personnel in developing corrective action responses to findings issued as a result of an audit.
e. Close corrective action files.
i. Review responses for Corrective Action Requests (CARs) issued by Corporate auditors for acceptability.
ii. Perform follow up reviews to validate implementation and effectiveness and update CAR database as appropriate.
B. Quality Element Coordinator Activities:
1. Review, develop and maintain Quality system documents and forms that meet customer and/or AS9100 requirements.
2. Serve as Quality System Manual, Quality Assurance Procedure and AS 9100 technical resource.
C. Process Improvement Quality Engineer Activities & Reporting:
1. Make recommendations or participate in problem solving teams to improve the efficiency or effectiveness of the Quality System.
2. Collect data and prepare the internal acceptance rate (IRA) monthly report for each of the plants and corporate summary.
3. Work with Access, Excel and AS400 databases to provide graphs and reports to management and customers.
D. Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
Technical College degree and 2 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and industry experience.
Computer Skills:
Excellent PC skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Access. Ability to learn AS400.
