Electrical Design Engineer

Salary:
To $75,000
Duties
1. Creates or develops the electrical design of aircraft instruments and supports the design from the initial concept to prototype and to final production.
2. Creates or develops electronic drawings; circuit schematics of instruments; bills of material; printed circuit artwork; to customer, AS9100 and FAA specifications.
3. Creates or develops software and/or firmware for products and software for test equipment using DO-178B standards.
4. Creates and analyzes engineering documentation such as safety and maintenance requirements; calibration and operating requirements.
5. Investigates and analyzes the root cause of failures for aircraft instruments at the component level.
6. Evaluates, tests, and qualifies instruments per FAA, AS9100, DO160E and customer specifications.
7. Interprets revisions and updates engineering drawings and documents as per FAA revisions through change request and change orders as per Company procedures.
8. Investigates customer product performance complaints.
9. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the Company, department, or employees.
10. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists employees in solving work problems.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Electrical Engineering; three to five years Electronics or Software Engineering; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
2. Ability to work with complex mathematical concepts in college level mathematics, including algebra, plane and solid geometry. Ability to apply mathematical concepts and practical situations.
3. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations. Ability to compose and edit business correspondence and procedures. Writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar.
4. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to reason complex transactions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
5. To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to operate the equipment used in the department, including but not limited to the computer, fax machine, Microsoft Office software, telephone, adding machine, test equipment, CAD and engineering software tools.
