Job Overview
Plexus Technology Group's Raleigh Design Center is seeking a technically proficient project team leader to manage and provide technical advisement to cross-functional engineering teams in the development of complex electronic products. This position is well-suited for an experienced project manager or a business-minded engineer who is looking to take on more responsibility for customer satisfaction and the overall success of a project.

Responsibilities

You will be utilizing your engineering product development (design) experience, your business savvy and your team leadership skills to transform our customer's marketable ideas into manufacturable products. This is a high impact leadership position in a professional technical environment.

- Experience the variety of products with customers in the Medical, Defense, Wireless, Telecom, and Industrial market sectors
-Develop the vision and direction for each project, taking our customers ideas and creating new electronic products
-Establish goals and develop your engineering design team

This position entails ensuring project and organization success through:
- Technical leadership and direction of cross functional project teams.
- Developing and presenting project proposals
- Directing resource allocation.
- Ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Developing and managing project schedules and budgets.
- Facilitating team meetings and communication.
- Developing long-term customer relationships.
- Initiating future business.

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- BS or MS in electrical, mechanical or computer engineering from an accredited institution. - 2 to 5 years of product design experience in the Networking/Datacom, Medical, Commercial/Industrial or Defense industry.
- 2 to 5 years of product development (engineering design) experience focused on at least one discipline (analog, digital, mechanical, software).
- 1 year in a leadership role on a product development team.
- Experience in estimating resource allocation requirements and project schedules.
- Strong team building, leadership, problem solving, decision making, budgeting, scheduling and communication skills.
- Possess excellent organizational skills.

** Permanent authorization to live and work in the United States**

Desirable skills and experience include:
- Prior experience in successfully working with customers and management on projects is preferred.
- Prior customer negotiations experience is beneficial
- Basic business knowledge and understanding of budgetary control is a plus
- Exposure to multiple design engineering disciplines, such as hardware, firmware, PCB and mechanical development processes.
- Experience with successful transitioning of designs to electronic product manufacturing.
- Proven success leading project teams for medical or defense applications.
- Experience with ISO 9000, ISO 13485, or ITAR design controls and quality systems.
