Brief Description of Job Responsibilities:

Providing exceptional service for employers, employees, patients, and all members of the health care team is the expectation of the Occupational Health Case Management Team. All members are expected to focus on the needs of the employer, employee/patient; relate to all in a friendly, accepting manner; communicate in a positive and professional way; use time effectively and efficiently; and demonstrate an overall high level of performance.

The Clinical Support Specialist works within the Occupational Health Case Management. The Case Management team provides services (assessment, planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring, and evaluating care) for short-term disability, long-term disability, family medical leaves, and worker`s compensation cases both internally and externally.

Specialized Responsibilities:

  • Maintains communication links with all members of the health care team, the employer, worker and insurers (written or verbal) to educate and facilitate safe return to work.
  • Complete absence and income protection forms for internal providers in a timely manner.
  • Fulfill medical record requests following standard operating procedures ensuring compliance with all federal and state confidentiality laws.
  • Maintains accurate and confidential documents, records and charts.
  • Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
  • Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with all departments within Prevea Health.
  • Assist and collaborate with RN Case Manager assigned to maintaining case load as needed.

Performance Requirements:

  • Knowledge, skill and ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a diverse number of internal and external customers.
  • Customer service skills are essential.
    • Ability to acquire and synthesize new information.
    • Knowledge of Windows based computer applications.Education/Experience/Certifications:
  • 3 or more years LPN / CMA experience preferred
  • Experience in occupational health and/or outpatient clinic setting desired.
  • Experience with Epic or other EMRNon-Essential Duties: Work is performed in an office/clinic environment. Involves frequent telephone contact with employees and patients. Work may be stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive. Typical Physical Demands:

  • Other duties as assigned.

Work may require sitting for long periods of time; also stooping, bending and stretching for files and supplies. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, operate a calculator, telephone, copier, and other such office equipment as necessary. Vision must be correctable to 20/30 and hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts. It is necessary to view and type on computer screens for long periods and to work in an environment which can be very stressful.
