School Based Occupational Therapist - OT
Job Location: Baltimore, MD
EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN DESERVE EXCEPTIONAL THERAPISTS...
Our client is a private coeducational school that offers certificate and diploma programs (grades 6-12) for students ages 11 to 21 whose cognitive functioning is below average or in the intellectually limited range. Students may also be diagnosed with other learning and behavior disorders, including emotional disturbance; autism and pervasive developmental disorder, including Aspergers syndrome; traumatic brain injury; and multiple disabilities, which may include learning disabilities, orthopedic impairments, speech and language impairments, and other health impairments, including ADD and ADHD.
We are searching for an Occupational Therapist for a full time, permanent placement position. The school runs on an 11 month calendar year, with a start date around Labor Day, finishing in mid-June, and one month of summer school programming in July. Ideally we are looking for someone who can begin employment on June 30th. The hours are Monday-Friday from 8 - 4. This is a beautiful school with happy kids, a happy staff, and very low turn-over.
The therapy team for this school of 125 students consists of 5 speech therapists, 1 part time physical therapist, 1 full time occupational therapist, and 1 part time occupational therapist. The therapists treat students in group and individual sessions, depending on the needs of the student. Multi-disciplinary co-treatment is also part of some of the therapy regimens. A rehab staff organizer helps the therapists with paperwork responsibilities, set up and clean up of equipment, and student scheduling. The school offers an excellent benefit package including a flexible spending account for health and dental insurance, that may also be applied toward un-reimbursable expenses and childcare, 14 days of paid time off, CEU reimbursement, and a 403B retirement plan with 3-5% matching funds. Employees may participate in the retirement program upon start date. Annual salary is $45 - $60K for 11 months. All typical school holidays are observed.
Qualifications: Must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy; a current state license (or eligible) if applicable.
