Title: Lead Teacher Reports To: Site Director Salary: $13/Hour Position: Full-Time, Temp to Hire Job Summary: Local school is seeking a full-time Lead Teacher. Client would prefer a professional with their Bachelors in Early Childhood learning and someone with their Early Childhood learning certification. Duties and Responsibilities: -
Comply with the education content mandates of the Head Start Performance Standards, program assessment, and work plans. Administer Ages and Stages Questionnaires for initial developmental screening. -
Utilize Creative Curriculum software to track each child`s ongoing developmental skill level in the eight domains as required by the Head Start Performance Standards. -
Utilize Conscious Discipline theory application to assist with classroom management. -
Provide high quality care in a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment. -
Work cooperatively with all schools employees, Family Support personnel, volunteers and collaborative partners. -
Build and maintain good parent/teacher relationships to encourage parent involvement. -
Attend all parent meetings during the school year. -
Conduct at least two home visits and parent conferences, per child, within the allotted time period. -
Participate in Family Child Review meetings once a month or as required. -
Develop a daily schedule and weekly lesson plans based on observations, parental input, and developmentally appropriate practice. -
Develop goals utilizing individualization form to meet each child`s developmental needs. -
Complete required documentation including, but not limited to: Monthly Reports, Attendance, InKind, Meal Count, Family Contacts, and Accident Injury Reports. -
Additional tasks as needed. Experience: -
Bachelors Degree in relevant field. -
Early Childhood Certificate. -
Previous experience in an Early Childhood setting. Supervisor Requirements: The professional hired will be responsible for the direct supervision of any staff. Knowledge and Abilities: -
Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision. -

Physical Requirements: Physical requirements for positions include: arm and hand steadiness and finger dexterity enough to use a keyboard and telephone; occasional lifting up to 25 pounds; may be subject to walking, standing, sitting, and reaching; and vision, speech, and hearing sufficient to perform the essential tasks. Any physical restrictions should be discussed or noted within the interview process.
