Title: General Counsel Reports To: Partner Salary:$200,000+ Position:Direct Hire Job Summary: Tulsa Based company is looking to hire a Full-Time General Counsel Attorney. The General Counsel is responsible for negotiating, writing, reviewing, summarizing, researching and executing a wide variety of agreements for company and its clients, including marketing agreements, entertainment agreements, license agreements, real estate leases, confidentiality agreements, and other general business contracts both. Duties and Responsibilities: - Negotiate, review, write, and execute agreements and contracts.
- Offer counsel on a variety of legal issues.
- Advise executives within the company and work alongside employees in Strategic Business Units, Marketing, Brand Communication, Sales, Human Resources, Corporate Alliances and the International Divisions.
- Manage various projects and deadlines.
- Advise executives on contract status, legal risks and business terms of various deals.
- Explain legal language.
- Provide assistance with global joint ventures, strategic partnership deals, and mergers and acquisitions.
- Draft terms and conditions in agreements.
- Ensure legal objectives are met.
- Research unique legal issues impacting the organization by identifying applicable statutes, judicial decisions, and codes.
- Keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect the company and its affiliates.
- Perform pre-litigation work to minimize risks and maximize legal rights.
- Review advertising and marketing materials to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Develop solutions to complex legal questions.
- Provide training to company and its affiliates on substantive legal topics.
- Additional projects as assigned.
Experience: - Admitted to practice.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a law firm environment.
- Heavy experience in transaction law- contract review, execution and negotiation.
- Experience with mortgage or banking law a plus.
- The successful candidate should hold a law degree and be a member of the bar.
- Experience as a practicing litigation lawyer, preferably initially with a prominent national law firm before moving to an in-house position.
- Experience working on matters of corporate governance and with a board of directors is required.
- Experience managing other attorneys and supervising support staff in a corporation is required as well as experience with cost effective management of outside legal resources.
Supervisor Requirements: The professional hired will not be responsible for the direct supervision of any staff. Knowledge and Abilities: - Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of contacts, including outside attorneys, senior management, and business associates.
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
- Ability to handle and resolve challenging problems.

Physical Requirements: Physical requirements for positions include: arm and hand steadiness and finger dexterity enough to use a keyboard and telephone; occasional lifting up to 25 pounds; may be subject to walking, standing, sitting, and reaching; and vision, speech, and hearing sufficient to perform the essential tasks.
