Reports To: Health Center Administrator Salary:$65,000 + commission
Position:Direct Hire

Job Summary:
Tulsa organization is looking to hire a Full-Time Community Relations Director. This position is responsible for identifying and attracting potential skilled nursing, and long term care residents, obtaining evaluation of the level of care needed, and ensuring a successful transition of the resident. May also assist with attracting residents for the Assisted Living department. This position is responsible for the planning, organizing, developing, and managing of marketing and public relations programs for the Client and its internal and external audiences. This is an exempt position.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Drive Census for Skilled Nursing residents as well as residents.
  • Work with other Marketing personnel to assist with Assisted Living and Independent residents as necessary when transitioning from skilled nursing.
  • Coordinate communication between discharge planners, case managers, medical staff and caregivers.
  • Establish, develop and maintain relationships at area hospitals and other retirement communities by participating in events, scheduling speaking engagements and working closely with the marketing and sales teams.
  • Identify and develop new referral sources
  • Demonstrates the ability and willingness to use data management and reporting software to monitor referral volumes, patterns and trends and contribute to ongoing strategic report requirements of the department as needed.
  • Coordinate transportation for clients from hospital or home.
  • Communicates effectively and tactfully with clients, responding appropriately to their age, cultural diversity, needs, abilities and physical condition.
  • Work with teams in Marketing, Health Center and Assisted Living to meet occupancy goals.
  • Performs other duties as may be required.


Experience:
  • B.S. Degree in Marketing or similar field or significant experience in Marketing OR
  • RN or LPN Degree in Nursing with marketing experience
  • 1-2 years marketing and or sales experience in a health care setting
  • Experience working with the geriatric environment preferred.
  • Previous Admissions experience a plus.
  • General understanding of the socio-economic and psycho-social aspects of the aging adult.


Supervisor Requirements:
The professional hired will not be responsible for the direct supervision of any staff.

  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
  • Ability to handle and resolve challenging problems.
  • Knowledgeable about Medicare/Medicaid certification process
  • Ability to drive within assigned territory
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Multi-tasked oriented.
  • Ability to be on time for work.
  • Demonstrates patience and understanding to work with elderly clients.
  • Displays knowledge of issues impacting the geriatric populations.
  • Works effectively under pressure and on short deadlines.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of printing/production, media relations, special events/promotions, and sales.
  • Demonstrates effective organizational skills.
  • Exhibits maturity and the ability to deal efficiently and professionally with residents and staff.
  • Demonstrates a customer first approach to problem solving.

Physical Requirements:
Physical requirements for positions include: arm and hand steadiness and finger dexterity enough to use a keyboard and telephone; occasional lifting up to 25 pounds; may be subject to walking, standing, sitting, and reaching; and vision, speech, and hearing sufficient to perform the essential tasks.
