Job Description
The Senior Software Engineer will provide software research and engineering solutions for Qbase initiatives. The employee will contribute expertise and provide practical applications in software design and engineering as Qbase develops solutions unique to our value proposition. Qbase expects the employee to be active in brainstorming solutions as well as in the research, design and coding of those solutions. As a senior Qbase engineering team member, employee will participate in a variety of exploratory research, data analysis, and technical recommendation activities, and work with Qbase Directors to set engineering direction. The Senior Software Engineer will create, deploy and manage software solutions as we undertake complex challenges in both existing and new product areas.
Knowledge and skills:
- Must be a team player with strong collaboration skills
- Able to direct the activities of others
- Working knowledge of multi-tiered system architecture and development
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio tools
- Extensive testing, debugging and performance tuning skills
- C++, C#, ASP.Net, Relational Database (Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL), XML, XSLT
- Experience in translating user requirements into usable software components
- Experience in full software development lifecycle including design, code, test, release, and support
- Data analysis experience desired
- Experience building highly reliable, available and scaleable web/database applications
Education and work experience:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related degree, M.S. degree preferred
- 5+ years practical experience in development and deployment of reliable software solutions
