Job Description
ETL Engineer
The ETL Engineer position exists to provide software research and engineering solutions for Qbase initiatives. The employee will contribute expertise and provide practical applications in software design and engineering as Qbase develops solutions unique to our value proposition. The ETL Engineer will create, deploy, and manage software solutions as we undertake complex challenges in both existing and new product areas. As a Qbase engineering team member, the ETL Engineer will participate in a variety of exploratory research, data analysis, and technical recommendation activities.
This position exists to provide data analytics and software solutions for a Qbase ETL system. As a key Qbase engineering team member, the ETL Engineer will participate in a variety of customer interactions, work with raw data, and develop ETL processes using various analytical tools. Ideal candidate will have strong analytic skills coupled with strong development experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working knowledge of multi-tiered system architecture and development
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio tools
- Extensive testing, debugging and performance tuning skills
- Use of data mining and analysis techniques, including segmentation, clustering, and scoring to interpret raw analytics into requirements and software solutions.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- 1+ years experience with C#, required
- 1+ years experience with ETL processes and tools
- Experience building highly reliable, available and scaleable ETL applications
- Experience with SPSS or SAS (a plus)
- Experience with MS-SQL or other relational databases
- Experience with MS Office including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access
- Experience with XML technologies (XML, XPATH, XSCHEMA, XQUERY)
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience in translating user requirements into usable software components
- Experience in full software development lifecycle including design, code, test, release, and support
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be a team player with strong collaboration skills
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related degree
- 3-5 years practical experience in development and deployment of reliable software solutions
- Data analysis experience required
