Job Description
TECHNICAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE
The Technical Sales Representative exists to solicit, close, and manage customers in an assigned territory. The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for communicating with prospects, customers, and internal personnel to ensure smooth, satisfying customer relationships. This position sells technical products, solutions, and services to meet assigned goals, to manage client relationships, and to maintain company standards of ethics and trustworthiness.
Responsibilities:
· Prospecting activities by making cold calls, developing lead generation, sales appointments, writing proposals, and networking
· Demonstrated ability to listen to the Customer and applying a consultative selling approach that focuses on partnership and the value proposition
· Candidate will be responsible for proposing and presenting various solutions, closing the sales, and overall account management
· Ability to be a self starter, manage time wisely, ability to overcome objections, and to provide complete customer satisfaction
· Awareness of computer industry-related issues and the ability to keep current with technological trends
· Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed projected forecasts and/or goals
· Excellent analytical skills with the ability to solve business issues for corporate customers and build win-win solutions
· Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve product and service issues
Knowledge and skills:
· Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to successfully influence and persuade
· Excellent presentation skills with the ability to hold the interest of a technical or non-technical audience
· Familiarity with various IT hardware/software products. Ie. Cisco, Microsoft, HP, etc.
· Experience in designing IT infrastructures
· Demonstrated ability in project management
Education and work experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or an IT related field or an equivalent combination of education and related business experience
· 3+ years outside sales experience in IT applications and hardware preferred
