Job Description:
The qualified applicant must have a minimum of five (5) years of recent experience in the administration or operation of a training / safety / hazardous materials and hazardous waste programs.
Duties include but not limited to: responsible for EH&S issues / programs, acts as liaison between the regulatory agencies, customer, sites and the PMO, establish safe work practices and conditions consistent with the company / program / federal / state and local regulatory agencies, comply with / execute / enforce company / program policy & procedures and OSHA and EPA regulations, comply with schedule inspections / audits, ensure corrective actions are in place and in a timely manner, monitor / maintain programs and file historical data, investigate incidents / accidents and injuries, advise / assist with necessary corrections and preventions, coordinate / assist with training programs and maintain employee training files. Typing skills and computer knowledge of Microsoft Work and Excel a must. Ability to read, analyze and interpret detailed publications, regulations, policy / procedures and instructions concerning company / program / OSHA and EPA. Must be effective with communication skills both oral and written.
Position will require travel (primarily between Yuma and El Centro), shift work, weekend / holiday work and long hours. Must possess analytical ability, have a positive attitude, be a self starter and work well with others. Have the physical ability to lift / handle 50 lbs and climbing / stooping as related to the job. Diversity of working conditions may range from standard office environment to inclement weather that may subject the employee to severe changes in temperature, less than adequate lighting, dust, wind, rain and high noise hazards may prevail. Employment dependent upon successful background security check and drug screen.
