Job Description:
This position is the Assistant Material Manager and requires the incumbent to assist the manager in the material effort for the T-6A program. The incumbent indirectly supervises assigned T-6 personnel, both in the program management office and at the COMBS, in the accomplishment of duties. The Assistant Material Manager oversees the forecasting, planning, provisioning, movement, and availability of T-6A material. Position is responsible for compiling, reporting, and analyzing material and support equipment data requirements to ensure contractual requirements. The incumbent will manage the T-6 warranty recovery program to include vendor warranty submission. The incumbent ensures compliance with Federal, company and departmental rules, regulations and policies. The Assistant Material Manager will perform under direction of the T-6 Material Manager.
THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING DUTIES. ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS MAY BE IDENTIFIED BY THE ORGANIZATION AND LISTED AS SUCH IN THE INCUMBENT'S PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL ELEMENTS. VARIOUS TASKS MAY BE ASSIGNED UNDER EACH ESSENTIAL FUNCTION. THOSE THAT ARE LISTED UNDER THE EXAMPLES OF WORK ARE NOT ALL INCLUSIVE; THEY ARE EXAMPLES ONLY AND MAY BE AMENDED OR ADDED TO AS NEEDED BY THE ORGANIZATION.
1. Establishing priorities and scheduling work assignments for COMBS and PMO Material personnel
2. Material analysis
3. Inventory planning & control to support the requirements of the contract to include support of time change requirements and TCTO/TDs
4. Ensuring initial provisioning efforts are complete and material available for new base operations
5. Interfacing with Hawker Beechcraft on material issues
6. COMBS operations management to include managing union issues/contracts
7. Reviewing and resolving matters of employee grievances; directing and ensuring opportunity for further assistance as required
8. Managing the establishment of a COMBS operation as new MOBs are introduced
9. Coordinating and documenting processes and procedures for COMBS operations
10. Import and export compliance
11. Monitoring and assisting in control of department budgets
12. Coordinating with other supervisors to ensure that resources necessary to complete tasks are available
13. Employee supervision to include reviewing performance and processing evaluations for PMO Material personnel as required
14. Increasing the technical competence of COMBS and PMO Material personnel through on-the-job training and through encouraging employees to participate in outside instructional opportunities
15. Actively enforcing all company rules, regulations and policies
16. Other duties as required
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED IN THIS CLASSIFICATION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING TASKS. THESE TASKS MAY BE AMENDED OR OTHER TASKS MAY BE ASSIGNED AS NECESSARY.
• Supervising assigned L-3 Vertex T6A personnel in the accomplishment of duties.
• Coordinating the efforts of others to ensure work assignments are properly accomplished.
• Assisting in the development and implementation of policies and procedures relating to the T-6 COMBS.
• Monitoring daily and weekly status reports forwarded to HBC.
• Monitors vendor turn times for impact to spares requirements.
• Responsible for submission of contract data requirements to Contracts for ultimate submission to the customer.
• Coordinates with vendors and completes Request for Supplier Action (RSA) when requested by customer.
• Monitors inventory at Madison for T-6 program to achieve contract requirements.
• Coordinates with HBC on Service Instructions impacting materials that are applicable to the domestic US Government aircraft fleet.
• Acts as point of contact with HBC on matters concerning COMBS and material matters.
• Supports the technical group in preparation of Statements of Work as necessary.
• Assists T-6 Program Manager in other duties as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• Four years experience in aircraft maintenance material management and logistics.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
The following skills and abilities are required:
• Proven leadership and supervisory ability.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written with personnel, vendors and the customer.
• Analytical abilities sufficient to handle complex technical and/or administrative details.
• Ability to travel to various company and business locations.
• Valid driver’s license.
Knowledge of the following is required:
• Generally accepted accounting principles sufficient to perform the job, duties, and tasks associated with the position.
• Organizational procedures, policies and operation to include all administrative requirements.
• Contractual requirements.
• Extensive working knowledge in logistics and data information systems.
• Knowledge of aircraft maintenance concepts and FAA rules and regulations.
Knowledge of SAP a plus
