Plans, coordinates, and provides total patient care specific to
diagnosis and age of patients served on a continuing basis, to obtain optimum health for
patient and family, in accordance with accepted hospital standards and policy and the South
Dakota Nurse Practice Act.
Job Description: Essential Functions:
Handles unanticipated events and crisis situations in a professional manner. Is alert to potential problems and notifies appropriate individuals as necessary.
Performs the technical procedures necessary for job responsibilities in a safe, effective, efficient, legal, and professional manner. Demonstrates knowledge and competency in executing aseptic techniques and assisting with surgical and related procedures.
Utilizes organizational assets appropriately which includes supplies, equipment, time and property. Manages room and supplies to promote use of only items needed in case and questions waste.
Insures all sterile items required both instruments and supplies, meet all appropriate standards.
Assists the surgical team in the recovery room, endoscopy, and central sterilizing as assigned. Assists with transport of patients; assists in cleaning of room in readiness for next patient.
Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
