The Systems Engineer performs the implementation and management of enterprise servers and storage across Microsoft Windows, Linux, AIX, and VMware platforms. Additionally, troubleshooting, monitoring, and designing disaster recovery plans related to the support of these listed solutions is also involved.
Job Description: Essential Functions:
Provide support to the organization, division, and peers as a critical function of all IT professionals. Support includes day-to-day peer level support, emergent after hours support, and any support required to maintain highly reliable IT systems.
Document processes and activities appropriately to maintain highly reliable IT systems. Provide required elements to Call Tracking, Project Management, Change Management, and Disaster Recovery Services Guides to achieve this goal.
Determines software/hardware requirements for new systems and develops installation plans.
Maintains and modifies systems software/hardware to ensure proper operation and to ensure clients have continued access to the system.
Monitor, analyze, and identify issues to resolve software, hardware, and data center problems.
Maintain awareness of security procedures to ensure appropriate physical access, system/network access and process/data integrity as mandated by policies and regulations (i.e. JCAHO, OSHA, HIPAA, etc.)
Research and evaluation of new equipment and technologies shall be addressed as necessary or requested.
Consults, trains, and in-services department personnel as required.
All other duties as assigned.
Experience - 3+ years of Data Storage Management Experience; 3+ years of Information Technology Experience; 3+ years of System Analysis Experience
Education - Bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems
Certifications - A+ Certification - CompTIA; Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) - Accredited University or accredited training professionals; Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) - Accredited University or accredited training professionals; Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) - Accredited University or accredited training professionals; Server+ - Accredited University or accredited training professionals; Storage+ - Accredited University or accredited training professionals; VMware Certified Professional (VCP) - Accredited University or accredited training professionalsPhysical Requirements:
Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
