Job Location: Manhattan, Kansas
Job Type: Non-profit Fundraising
Hours: full-time
Hours: Full-time / 40 hours/week
Salary: Base plus commission (commensurate with skill & experience)

Established, well-respected local charity seeking an experienced and effective fundraiser reporting directly to Executive Director. This critical position is primarily responsible for raising sufficient financial support for the organization to continue carrying out its mission and ongoing goals.

The Development Director succeeds by working with persons and organizations within the communities served by Relate 360 to raise awareness of its mission and services, building relationships that increase the contributions of those individuals and groups. The Development Director will be experienced and adept at applying proven fundraising techniques and ideas while also exploring new ones. The Development director will advise the Executive Director and the Board with fundraising strategies.

Tasks / Responsibilities: (not complete list)
Writing grant applications
Attracting new individual donors
Existing donor relations
Developing corporate sponsors
Creating marketing messages
Organizing fundraising events

Experience / Qualifications: (not complete list)
Deep knowledge of ethical fundraising best practices.
Fantastic research abilities with a proven track-record of developing and raising up new, previously untapped sources of support.
Demonstrated comfort with both physical and virtual information delivery systems, including social media.
Primary experience applying for grants with excellent technical reading & writing skills and a track record of successful awards.
Creative mind for developing concise yet compelling content although not primarily responsible for graphical design.
Excellent group and one-on-one presentation skills, adept at persuasively communicating organizational value to the community that maximizes gifts within donors’ means.
Able to teach, direct and motivate potential future assistants.
Board advisory experience is a plus.
