Reynolds Polymer Technology, a worldwide manufacturer of cast acrylic products with Headquarters on the Western Slope of the Rocky Mountains in Grand Junction, Colorado is looking for a Polymer Chemist to join the team.

Job Description:
The primary responsibilities include accepting a leadership roll in creatively leading projects in developing new opportunities and applications for acrylic by working with Sales & Marketing, Production, Engineering and others on the team. Candidate is accountable for managing timelines and budgets for projects focused on the ultimate goal of getting ideas and opportunities to commercialization that deliver specific effects to our business. The candidate must have a strong background in understanding the relationships between polymer structure, properties and product performance of MMA and cast acrylics.

Job Responsibilities:
* Performs, coordinates, and directs programs for research, product development, and improvement of manufacturing processes.
* Evaluates optional manufacturing methods for cost effectiveness and possible production time savings.
* Coordinates research and analysis activities according to applicable specifications, manufacturing processes, or other considerations, and recommends modification of formulas, standards, specifications, and processes.
* Work closely with the Engineering department and with various material suppliers.
* Prepares reports and technical papers.
* Prepares and administers laboratory budgets.

Job Requirements:
* Masters or PhD in degrees in polymer chemistry/science or materials chemistry.
* 7 years minimum experience working with polymer resins, preferably in the acrylic area.
* 4 years minimum experience working in industry, 'academics-only' need not apply.
* Must have un-restricted employment authorization to work in the U.S.
* Must be able to travel to company facility in Thailand and other international destinations.
* Excellent problem solving and idea generation abilities. Able to see the big picture.
* Proven experience in taking projects from concept to commercialization.
