Master Scheduler/Production Planner
The Master Scheduler/Production Planner reports to the Materials Manager and is responsible for managing raw material inventory, developing an efficient and effective production plan, and managing finished goods inventory levels that provide excellent customer service, optimize resources, while meeting inventory investment goals.
Essential Functions:
Analyze production requirements against available capacity, prioritize workloads, and create a production plan that delivers targeted customer service while optimizing operating efficiencies and finished goods inventories
Perform root cause analysis to account for delays, difficulties, and changes
Analyze and recommend procedural changes to improve effectiveness and efficiency
Review documents such as production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements, and material priorities
Communicate issues with material availability
Process requests for test runs and downtime, including maintenance PM
Manage raw material transitions with PDM, Sales, and Marketing
Partner with Operations in planning production needs to allow for adequate equipment and staffing requirements
Maintain appropriate data fields in JDE; initiates periodic review to ensure accuracy and thoroughness of data
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
Four year college/university degree in business or supply chain required. A two-year degree and minimum 7 years experience in a planning or scheduling role may be substituted.
At least 5 years practical experience in an MRP scheduling environment
APICS, CPIM certification required
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Strong negotiation skills; exhibits mastery of information and is persuasive
Strong decision making skills and ability to work under deadlines with general direction
Working knowledge of computer applications, including JDE and Microsoft Office
