Rockline's largest facility is located in Springdale, AR and is ranked in the top five best places to work in Northwest Arkansas. Rockline is a dynamic and progressive company with double digit growth. Due to our exciting growth, we have an immediate opening in our Springdale, AR facility for an:
Buyer
The Buyer reports to the Director of Purchasing and coordinates all aspects of raw material purchasing for assigned commodity. The Buyer is responsible for ensuring timely delivery of quality materials and services at a competitive value.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Buyer is responsible for managing the supply management strategy for the assigned commodities. This includes but is not limited to the following:
- Ensuring Rockline is purchasing at the most competitive prices during inflationary and deflationary periods.
- Significantly reducing dollar investment in materials inventory through better planning, supply chain optimization and better supplier selection.
- Raising the quality of purchased materials to achieve improved consistency and quality of finished goods.
- Reduce the materials segment of cost-of-goods-sold.
- Effecting product and process improvements through encouraging and facilitating early open communication between buyer and supplier.
- Develop a keen knowledge of materials, suppliers, industries and markets.
- Develop knowledge, relationships and systems to facilitate the effective and efficient procurement of materials and services.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
- Four year College Degree or equivalent
- One or more years experience in purchasing or a related field
- Knowledge of the flow of artwork, printing plates, approval process for such, and the printing process extremely beneficial.
- Excellent verbal, written, analytical, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and meet impending deadlines
- A high-energy, self-motivated individual that can develop and implement strategies.
- Strong analytical skills, strong persuasive skills and the ability to articulate thoughts and sell ideas to a diverse group.
- Ability to lead by developing consensus and igniting action in others.
- CPIM or C.P.M. preferred
