Electrical & Instrumentation Specialist Department: Maintenance Reports to: TPM Manager
Summary of Position: The Electrical & Instrumentation Specialist primary responsibilities are to provide ongoing support for electrical and instrumentation (PLC and control logic) related issues in all manufacturing areas, including Chemical Mix and other functional support areas (lighting, HVAC, technical services, warehouse, power distribution, etc.). Other responsibilities include the support of preventative and predictive maintenance programs and services, and developing processes and systems to effectively manage shop floor line and logic control. The role has heavy involvement in ongoing process improvement initiatives and activities, working closely with the Engineering and Process Support functions.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required: A state indentured Industrial Electrician journeyman card or a two year Associate degree in Electro/Mechanical technology. BSEE is a plus. PLC: Allen Bradley family of PLCs Programming, online troubleshooting, and maintenance. Includes MicroLogix, ControlLogix, FlexLogix, CompactLogix, and SLC 500s. Drives/Servos: Allen Bradley VFDs and Servos Configure and program AB drives and servos. Includes the PowerFlex family, 1336, and 160 drives and Kinetix Servos. HMI: Allen Bradley PanelView Plus, PanelView standard, and RSView - Ability to develop, upload and download applications to these operator interfaces. Networks: DH+, Remote I/O, EtherNet, DeviceNet, and ControlNet - Fundamental working knowledge of the various networks. AutoCAD 2010 Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, ability to create and modify electrical schematics. Reading and understanding Elementary electrical drawings - A comprehensive knowledge of the symbols used and the ability to read all types of electrical drawings. These include Power Distribution, Control Schematics, I/O drawings, etc. Understanding and reading Pneumatic and Hydraulic drawings - Basic knowledge Proficiency with PCs, including the Microsoft Office family of products Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and in a creative manner. High degree of computer literacy, and ability to learn new systems quickly. Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and SPC/SQC tools and techniques. A working knowledge of local, state, and OSHA regulations and guidelines. Experience with Self Directed and/or High Performance Work teams. Strong verbal, written, analytical, mathematical, reasoning, and interpersonal skills. Flexibility in schedule. Ability to organize, prioritize, and multi-task in a high paced working environment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction.
