I & E Designer Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Performs new and revised product design using CAD equipment.
* Develops fabrication 2D electrical drawings complete with build of materials from P&ID's and/or concept drawings.
* Prepares completed layouts for final product design from simple sketches.
* Determines scale, performs complex mathematical calculations and prepares layouts for detailing.
* Makes decisions regarding design suitability using knowledge of specified product materials and production processes.
* Requires thorough knowledge of drafting techniques, engineering terminology and manufacturing materials.
* Works with other members of the engineering staff to ensure that production is completed in a timely manner.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Individual must be experienced in Pipeline equipment codes, standards and materials. Requirements:
Language Skills
Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Able to write routine reports and correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills
Able to add and subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Education and/or Experience:
* Minimum of 3 years of AutoCAD experience is required
* Associate's Degree (AA) in Computer Aided Drafting or Electrical Design from a two-year college or university is preferred but not required or equivalent combination of education and experience in electrical design.
